Want a PhD on transgressive games?

We are hiring! We are looking for someone who wants to do their PhD degree on the topic of games and transgressive aesthetics. This is a three year position that allows the candidate to carry out research on transgressive game content as well as fulfil the formal requirements for the PhD degree at the Faculty of Social Sciences at University of Bergen.

To apply, you need a completed Master’s degree in a relevant field within the human or social sciences. Oh, and most importantly: You must be enthusiastic about research and interested in games!

As this is a PhD position connected to specific project, it is important that you make sure that your project description, which is mandatory to the application, fits well with the overall project. The better the fit, the greater the chances that you will be selected as the best candidate for this position.

As the project takes place in Bergen, the most lovely city in the world (at least when it’s not raining), you are expected to relocate here. We can offer good work conditions, a friendly environment, a really interesting international project group, and active local research groups. And if you’re lucky, game nights at my place! 🙂

Deadline is March 30. You’ll find the announcement here: http://www.jobbnorge.no/en/available-jobs/job/110683/phd-fellowship-at-the-department-of-information-science-and-media-studies
