The Games and Transgressive Aesthetics project is organizing a Paper Jam on Mon-Tue Dec 4-5!
A Paper Jam is a workshop based event where we come together to write a paper (or other form of text) within a limited time. For our purpose, this can be any text you are working on or needs to start working on – a conference paper, a chapter, an argument for your thesis, an extended abstract…. It can also be a revision of work in progress. The goal of our Jam is that everyone should produce at least 5 pages of new text during the two days we have set aside.
We believe that writing together with other people in the same physical location does something to the motivation and productivity. Who wants their colleague to see you procrastinating?
The program is as follows:
Monday Dec 4
9.30-10.00 – Everybody presents their intentions and goals for the Paper Jam
10.00-12.00 – Writing session
12.00-13.00 – Lunch at MCB
13.00-16.00 – Writing session
16.00 – Drafts are shared; the paper assigned to each us is read at our own leisure before we meet again Tuesday morning
19.00 – Dinner
Tuesday Dec 5
09.30-11.00 – Feedback session: Everyone comments on the text of one other participant: Is there coherence? Is the draft able to communicate the author’s message?

13.00-14.00 – Lunch
14.00-16.00 – Writing session

What a wonderful concept! Unfortunately I’m not able to come, maybe some other time.
